Good for her, and I'm sure there are people out there who still think videogames are 'only' for kids.

LOL...once a gamer, always a gamer. I've been gaming since the 80's (text based games).

I like MMORPG games and I'm actually in guilds with other adults of all ages.
I prefer it over watching TV as gaming is interactive.

My son (in CO) and I play together (World of Warcraft). For "Mother's Day" he ran me through a dungeon and let me keep all the loot !!!

It's keeps the mind and spirit active. You are never too old to play games.

There's even a professional gaming team (e-sports) of seniors.

Too funny. I was never much of a gamer, but I sort of got my son started in it unintentionally. Now he is a huge gamer… As are his cousins. They love it.

According to Statista, about 40% of video gamers are over the age of 36, with 21% of video gamers being over 50 years of age.

Additionally, females (of any age) make up 46% of video gamers.

A lot of people including seniors are turning into video gaming during this pandemic to kill time. Since there's not much good TV programming and no sports to watch gaming is the better venue.

Lots of adults game, lots are in the older crowd also, as the post above showed.

Many games are more than gaming, people are in groups, so they chat, some games have groups, clans, whatever, that are made up of members with similar interest, like retired people, veterans, etc. So aside from gaming, they are chatting with each other also.

Gaming is great, been doing it for decades, never understood the negativity towards it, yet seems ok with mindlessly watching football, baseball, or some other sport on TV.

So true. I have been in the same wow guild for over 10 years now and the regulars are like family.
All adults and many are now retired like me and we can get to play in the afternoons sometimes.
We play to have fun and don't care too much about the leet gear, being server first or best DPS.

Gaming is addictive no matter what the age is. Mostly the game players are mentally sharp and intelligent. This grandma seems mentally active too.
