Can anyone tell me about these condos that are near the beach Surfside building Bay area. We do not know anything about Corpus Christi and we are looking into beach areas to rent a small 1 bedroom condo. Any other suggestions are appreciated

which ones, there are multiple? The complexes are old, but some of the condos, if renovated are nice.

I think the ones I saw on line were called Surfside building. Is this a nice safe area of Corpus?
Or do you know the names of others? I am looking for a place for my son to stay until he can find an apartment. He is relocating from NJ in June and I thought this might be another option to an extended stay hotel. Trying to figure this all out in a short time. Any help is really appreciated.

It takes approximately 1 hour to drive from CC to Three Rivers and if your son lives on either North Beach or Padre Island, you need to tack 1/2 hour more onto that. If he wants to live in CC, he needs to be looking on the Northwest end of town in the Calallen/Annaville area.

I was going to suggest Mathis, George West, or Beeville. However, be advised, with the Eagle Ford oil shale boom going full blast, housing is going to be scarce.

These? Surfside Courtyard Condos,The Best Kept Secret on North Padre Island,Texas! It is a very safe area. It would be a great area to live in if he worked in Corpus.

But that would be a pretty crazy commute, 1 hr & 26 minutes if he works in Three Rivers. http://goo.gl/maps/o6NST

Living Calallen would make much more sense, cost less and he could easily drive to the beach for weekends. If I was a young man in his position I would look to buy a boat I could live on during the weekends and keep a cheap apartment closer to work. Keep the boat in a marina at Corpus, Ingleside or Port Aransas, that would be a really great lifestyle.

This might help with alternatives.

Thanks for your replies. So I see living closer to the beach would tack on almost another 1/2 hour to his commute. This helps put things in prospective.

I love North Beach we had one of those condos but had to sell it. Its close to downtown Corpus ( like 4 minutes) Much more beach than people and also convenient to the growing communities of Rockport Portland Ingleside etc. The residents were friendly and there were a bunch of pools if you didn't want to walk 100 ft to the ocean.
