I am 21 years old and I will be starting a 6-month internbship with Unilever in Trumbull. I will be living with 2 other interns and we have been searching for a 3 bedroom rental in the area of 1500-2500. I have heard good things about all three of these places but I really wanted to live in the "SoNo" area because I heard it is great for young people. Does anyone have any advice of what to do, or any areas to avoid. Also, how long would a commute be from Stamford to Trumbull? Thanks!

Stamford to Trumbull, piece of cake, as you will be going opposite the flow each day...as far as finding a short term rental, try the realtors in the town you want to live in..they should be on top of availability...do not agree to pay a fee...realtors get paid a percentage of a month's rent by the person whose place you rent...

hey, wouldn't recommend SoNo for living...it's great to party in but move over 2 or 3 streets and you might get "shived" walking back from the train station or get your car stereo stolen. They do have plans to revitalize the area, but I wouldn't recommend it for you guys.

Stamford to Trumbull is cake (for the commute), but with gas prices soaring be expected to spend $$. Also, Stamford is much more expensive. What's the most important for you, having a good time for your internship (i.e. partying it up), or being able to concentrate on work etc...? You could try surrounding towns like Milford, Stratford which may be a bit cheaper and might have the 3brs you are looking for. I think you are going to have a tough search ahead. Good luck.

And Milford has a great nightlife for people your age. I'm 24... Citrus, SBC, Stonebridge and Archie Moores all have a great scene. They're within walking distance of each other.

True, Milford is a nice bet down near the green. Also, consider Stratford near the train station which is starting to come alive with new bars and resutraunts and you can live in either some modern style apartments or in an old victorian within walking distance. Downtown Fairfield on the post road will be a bit more expensive but have everything you need to include bars, coffee, movies, food, borders, and a train within a short walk.

Stamford to Trumbull is 20 min on the highway.
The drive will be smooth too because everyone is driving south. (either to Stamford or the NY area).

try the Fairfield Beach area. They do a lot of short term rentals due to summer rentals and college students. The rents aren't too bad
