Good morning,
as already writtenin another post, I'm relocating to CT from Switzerland.
I would like to know if there's anybody from or with some informations about Hamden.
I've always considered to relocate to Milford but the price for a 2 bedroom apartment to rent are quite expensive.
So I'm looking at Hamden but I have any informations about it.

Could you help me?

Thank you and best regards,

Hamden has two different identities: Mount Carmel very closely resembles Cheshire to the north in that it is more residential with houses set on larger lots. Hamden south of the Route 40 Connector gradually becomes very retail-oriented. Furthermore, south of Hamden Plaza on Dixwell, Hamden resembles New Haven. Houses are set on postage-stamp-size lots, and streets are in a grid-like formation.

Taxes are higher than Cheshire's but not as bad as West Haven's.

Thanks for the informations.
I'm looking for a 2brs apartment to rent and I've found two possibilties:
-Avalon Walk
- Aspen Glen
I'm planning a quick trip in Jan. while I'm in the area.
Do you know these two places ?

Thanks again.
Cris

I have never been to those apartments but I know exactly where they are. That area of Hamden is fine. Typical middle class suburban area with some shops and restaurants within walking distance. I would feel completely safe living in that area. Hamden gets a little sketchy near the New Haven line, particularly the southern end of Dixwell Avenue, but most of it is quite nice.

This is my first exprience with them since moving from Michigan in August and I have noting bad to say so far.
Good Luck on your move.

I'm not sure of the area myself. I am a travel nurse coming to the Avalon Walk in February. I wanted to know what's around the neighborhood, and is the neighborhood safe and pet friendly.
