Thanks everyone for your responses! We are still trying to meet people in this area - we plan on trying to join a club or two. It will also be better now that the weather is getting warmer. When we moved to Western Mass, we both were in school, so meeting people was quite easy. Unfortunately, we haven't had that same luxury here (although some people wouldn't think being in school was a luxury, we liked it). At least we have actually started seeing people out and about - you would think I would be used to this having grown up in New Hampshire...hopefully, it will get better. Thanks again for the replies.

Hi:
I'm from England and been in the US for around 11 years now. I live in East Lyme, CT along with my wife. I'm 30 and she's 27. We would like to connect with others around our age that are in and around the area. Look forward to hearing back from some of you.
Jared

I am sorry to inform you but this should be taken off of Madison, CT. The British Shoppe whom was owned by a lovely couple for years closed in 2006. They retired or relocated to Florida.

It became the Scottish shop or something for a year serving great Scottish food (it was all Italian food). Yes I know that race car driver, Nick Faldo the golfer, Gaglione (hope I spelled it right) the footballer are Scottish of Italian decent and the best pizza I ever had was in an Italian neighborhood in Edingburgh, but that is not the point. That closed around 2007.

The building was vacant for a while and now for several years it is Oasis Nail Salon. There have not been any British Shops in Madison, CT for a while now: only the foreign food section in Stop & Shop.

My friend is British and has run into some ex-pats at Anna Liffey's in New Haven. Go during a football (aka soccer) game.

Edit: holy old thread. OP is long gone.

Hello fellow Brits,
We live in Madison and would love to meet fellow Brits! We have met a few but I know there are many more, we just need to get you away from the tele' and venture out. Does anyone know of an expat club?? I am sure there is a need for one but I cant seem to find one, which begs the question why don't we start one?? I hereby betroth upon myself membership number one of the Madison Expat club. First meeting to be announced when when we have more than one member!
