Dark sky saying an hour or two of ice, and then rain all night till tomorrow afternoon.

What a huge letdown.

Great look if you want to understand it.

5000' temp loop with metars past 4hrs.

Pittsburgh light snow has changed to rain past hour because that freezing line at 5000' pushed north.

Cold -10C air "Pinks" holding on in CT...for now. It's in the teens above us right now.

Most importantly look at that freezing line as the storm gets closer.... over D.C now. it's coming.

I know the 1980s didn't have many coastal storms but it was a cold decade. It's one thing to want something but you cant use a current event to make a future trend prediction.

Past 7 of the last 10 yrs has been crazy snowy but that doesn't mean it will be a trend towards colder or warmer winters.
When I said I hope it's a trend toward warmer winters, it was just wishful thinking. I base my wishful thinking upon nothing, lol.

After living on the NH border for the past five years, I actually started to fear snow. A lot of close calls, stuck in a house with the power off, no phone service, no cell service, doors plastered shut with frozen snow. Isolated out in the middle of nowhere and trapped!

I got really sick and tired of snow so now I'm a grouch if it snows. I wouldn't mind an ice storm if we have to have something, but even so, pity the poor people who have to be somewhere or who have a flight scheduled. I'm not a good New Englander anymore.

The recent models I saw were right about delaying the start. Great, less time with snow falling. LOL

Loop last 4hrs. 1-5pm. The front edge is still not in Southern NY or NJ.
