Just got it too but channel 3 is showing that it is passing our part of Glastonbury. Still pouring and thundering now though. Jay

That's because I got my keys and put my shoes on, and thought about where I was barricading myself
Now I can work in peace lol

I'm surprised that Hurricane Bob wasn't mentioned! I know it was a bigger factor for RI and eastern MA. Portland, ME (PWM) got over 8 inches of rain. I do remember that we lost power in New Britain, but the phone service from SNET was still there. They say how long it's been since they had direct impact from a hurricane. The leftovers of 1985's Gloria knocked out our power that Friday evening in Old Orchard Beach (York County). I guess Irene (2011) and Sandy (2012) didn't do too much for them.

Both Irene and Sandy stayed too far to the west of them. However, Irene basically went due north from NYC and caused a ton of record flooding in upstate NY, western Mass and VT. Sandy wasn't much at all north and east of CT (remember, it slammed east-to-west into NJ and kept going west inland).

I see it. Keep an eye out. Just means it's very possible. I don't see any reports of funnels or damage yet but that cell looks nasty.

Heading away from Manchester and towards Storrs. I don't like that hook there on radar. Tornado would be around that. That hook almost always indicates debris in air from a Tornado. Debris Ball they call it.

Close up loop past 2 hrs so you can see how its moving. You can see the Sun in and out too.

Hail is falling within that Tornado warned cell.

Looks like Middletown missing all those downpours but one is approaching now.

1.28 inches at Brainard as of 5:53 PM. Didn't see their 6:53 PM reading yet. Plenty of rain to soak me while walking in Newington in the 5 PM hour. Kelsey/Orchard/Stonehedge/Church/Richard...then crossed the Berlin Turnpike. I swear I saw some rotation while outside of Target. Then it looked real dark and nasty on the big hill looming over Walmart and that side of the Turnpike. It was freaky seeing a tiny break of blue directly overhead while nearing Chick-Fil-A.

UPDATE 2.36 inches total. An extra 1.08 inches with that heavy thunderstorm.

As bad as the pouring rain was, it wasn't severe in Newington for me. Almost no wind. I didn't see any hail either.

Lots power for a few, street flooded, my SO had a cart ram into the car while he was sitting it out at Stop & Shop. And this is all that's on the news now.

Cell network is slow as hell. I'd give you a rain update but I shut down my network.

Only "T" for me! Gonna be interesting seeing the totals tomorrow. Must of been some flooding around with that kind of rainfall rate. Hard to see when driving too.

Did you see any upwards cloud motion? You might of saw a funnel
