About 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch forecast in my locale in SWNJ.

Don't get too jealous now.

6.5° low this morning here at 7:05am.

8:45am temps and radar. No snow threat. Should be sun/cloud mix today as we're north of the system. Cold day today

Its a double edge sword when its this cold. Pressure on pipes and overuse on boiler or furnace.

We may have to set some better plumbing standards if these cold snaps keep happening every year. Lol
Propane ignitor failure. Stove running at max to keep pipes from freezing, especially since half of roof is open

I'm having issues with my Oil Fired Burner building pressure and shutting down before it maxes out on temperature......had the faulty Pressure Relief Valve and Expansion Tank recently replaced, never had this issue before.....I think there still might be air in the system from the repair, but the plumbing service that did the repair is telling me over the phone "It's not likely".....and that my "Woodstove is throwing the Thermostats off"....I explained the Woodstove is not running.....tells me to call Oil company to service the Boiler.

Hearting equipment has been getting strained in these temps. These outdoor temps are lower than what they call the 99 percent outdoor design temps. I think you would be amazed at how many hours your equipment is running in these temps. I was away for a cold snap recently and my oil furnace was sucking down fuel like crazy to maintain 58 when it was single digits. I can track my runtime and oil usage.

Winter: 99% design temperature. This is the outdoor temperature that your locations stays above for 99% of all the hours in the year, based on a 30-year average. Turning it around, the outdoor air where you live is going to be colder than this temperature for only 1% of the hours in a year.

What's exactly the issue? Just that it shuts off before maxing out? Sometimes those gauges aren't accurate. If you turn the T-Stat up to 74 will the boiler run until the room is 74?

Sometimes the Cad Cell is dirty and shuts it off but it wouldn't take long..

Have some snow.

Photo taken about 5 minutes ago.

It's not much, about another 3 hours or so to go.

I'm sure I posted it here, but my heat was on for 7.5 hrs that Monday after the ice. I keep it in the 50s so it normally doesn't come on often and my cast iron radiators stay warm for quite awhile. Can't imagine how long some other systems are running.

3 hours is usually on the high end for me.
