OUR generation's mindset, Jay, which I run against on this issue, is our biggest problem. THe Eisenhower mindset of spread it highway only is ill suited for 21st century America.

By the way, I have no issue with changing non peak service to every 90 minutes, but we need to ramp up non New Haven line availability vs its present putrid condition.

Are you aware on several lines we offer no arrival times by the start of normal business hours? What are we running, the Cannonball at Hooterville? We are running lines like the Shoreline East in a way that guarantees their failure, long-term. I stand with Cameron, and against the CT DOT 100%!

CT need fix the tracks, safety features, get new modern trains to allow trains travel up to 110 mph to Grand Central from New Haven.

Bingo, and, as vital, it must have connecting service to/from Waterbury, Danbury, and all Shoreline east stops that arrives by 7:30 e.s.t at their stops, and departs, every 30 minutes during rush hour peaks.

It is either the 21st century or the 19th, and by cutting funding, Ct has chosen the latter.

Last night rush hour was brutal , and not even a snowstorm.
When is WestCOG going to fix this mess?
Doesn’t anyone work from home or shop online anymore? Everyone says they do

The line has too many stops, so no chance it will ever reach 110MPH. I doubt it could even reach 70MPH.

Those electric trains can accelerate very quickly. They can do 100MPH. It's the track condition that is the problem.

They do hit 70MPH in a short area.

Turns won't be fixed, but the quality of tracks can be so that the speed restrictions aren't so bad.

We need a new Commissioner of Transportation. One with active brain cells.

I would just appreciate more transparency to the public. It seems like they make promises and then after being years in the dark, they barely manage to maintain equilibrium.

Bingo. Lamont will not change that. It takes a "rock the boat, no nonsense" management style, where failure by staff is unacceptable, and there are consequences.

There would be express trains that would make few, if any stops. That’s the only way to see those speeds for any appreciable length of trip. Jay
