I'm looking for a 2 -3 bedroom rental in Greenwich, Cos Cob area with easy access to train. What is the budget I should be looking at? I looked at mls, saw the lowest one is around 1600 for 2 bed, but what is realistic in Greenwich / Cos cob?

Thanks!

$1600 sounds a bit low to me for the part of Cos Cob that is close to the train. Cos Cob is a big part of Greenwich - the only area that I'd consider "walking distance" to the train would be south of the Post Rd between Loughlin Park and the water. Did it mention a street name? Is it an entire house, or just part of a house? If you're looking to rent a 3bdrm house, I'd expect to pay more like 2300-3000, but you may be able to find a 2bdrm rental for between 1600-2000.

If you find out the name of the street for the place you saw, I'll let you know if it'll work. (I'm assuming you want to walk to the train - but if you got a permit for the Cos Cob station, you'll have a lot more options).

You will probably find a few 2 bdrm options under $2000 there, but those streets are not within walking distance to the train.
