We live in lower Westchester and are looking to move to the Fairfield County area - hopefully within a few months. We have family who live in the Trumbull and Fairfield. We are interested in looking at Condominiums in these areas but something that is not too far from the train station as I work in NYC.

Is there a directory of condominium listings that is available for these areas? Does anyone have suggestions in addition to a real estate broker to research developments?
Thanks.

How close to the train station do you want to be and how much are you willing to pay for it. Trumbull is not on the train line so most people use Bridgpeort, Stratford or Fairfield stations.

There are a number of condominium developments in Fairfield and all are fairly close to the trains (10 minute or so drive). There is a complex immediately adjacent to the Fairfield Center station called Mosswood. This is an older converted apartment complex so the units may be small and not up to modern standards. Adjacent to those are some townhouses, but they face I-95 and may be noisy. There is also some condos being built near the Southport station. Those are going for over $1 milllion and I have read that the developer is having financal troubles that is delaying the sale of any units. Other than those you wil probably have to travel a bit.

There is also the Stone Ridge Condominiums that were just built near the site of the near Commerce Drive train station. That station will be constructed soon and is schedule to start service in 2009. It might be a good investment but they are pricey ($700k+). There are many other complexes in the area as well and all are pretty nice. Look through realtor.com and see which ones fit your price range and needs. Good luck, Jay
