Not fond of the pizza either place but very good grinders.

I ate lunch at 2nd Poqunock today because I picked up my nephew at the airport. They have been there about 30 yrs and are doing a great business. I have always wondered if their business would significantly increase if they were on RT 75 instead of being tucked away in that crappy plaza.

There's another good sub shop in Windsor Locks too on Spring St called H & M. They recently remodeled the store but for some reason they do not accept credit or debit cards. They will direct you to the ATM machine they conveniently installed inside the store. Don't know why they think that's a good idea. I turned around and walked out. No reason to not accept debit/credit cards in this day and age unless you are skimming cash off the top. (electronic payments leave a paper trail)

I misread his post, I thought he typed what is FFC, I couldn't imagine why he wouldn't know what FFC meant, lol.

Yep, Pelliccis' is still there in the heart of Stamford, serving good old fashioned red sauce American-Italian. Their 70th Anniversary this year. I personally think there are better Italian restaurants using better ingredients in the area, but Pelliccis' and Colony Pizza are both beloved and treasured Stamford institutions.

I like Frank pepes but Randys delivers and is pretty close taste wise. Now forgetting Shady Glen i have admit is a major omission.

H and M is good but I haven't been in there in 10 years. I used to have a close relative near to 2nd Poqunock, and I would pick it up on the way to see her.

Anyone have some ideas? Bonus points if the outdoor seating is covered.
Wouldn't even know where to start there's so many places now with outdoor/sidewalk dining. If you like waterfront - Arezzo, Crabshell, Sunset Grill, Sono Seafood, another one in Harbor Point don't remember the name. Food is not the greatest at these however. Our favorite Rowayton Seafood has outdoor dining upstairs, crowd is so stuffy and pretentious though you can cut the tension in the air with a knife, excellent food though which is rare for waterfronts.

I wanted to give props to two counter service places in Litchfield County:. Green Tomato in Morris (next to Popey's ice cream shop) and Love Hearts in Litchfield/Bantam. Both make fantastic wraps/salads and are great for a quick lunch stop.

Lower FFC ideally, live in Darien, work in Greenwich, but will often go to Westport/Fairfield, even up to Ridgefield for dinner.

The problem we've had is being able to actually reserve outdoors, guaranteed, rather than first come first serve, or "we'll make a note."
