Unfortunately, ripping CDs from the library is not legal. I did this a lot until I found out.
Amazon's samplers are great, I agree!

The Russians are a little lax in enforcing US and international copyrights, there's some kind of loophole in the law or the authorities look the other way. In any event we're not in Russia but the US an that copy would be deemed illegal to the best of my knowledge. It's like trying to argue if crack was legal in another country you can ahve them send it to you legally.

Exactly.

The Russians aren't paying the artists, songwriters, and publishers for the rights to the song. That's for sure.

I don't understand why people go for these fraudulent Russian sites. I don't necessarily endorse copyright infringement but, if you're going to anyway-

Why pay some Russian guy for an illegal copy when you can just get one for free on a Torrent site? It's not like one is legally or morally better than the other.
