I use Office 2000, and 2003 on my home and office computers, but I've never used 2007 yet.
I personally do not like the menu structure in Office 2007. I have not seen previews of Office 2010, but I hope the general look of the programs is more like 2003 than 2007.
Sorry you don't like 25 character product keys and having to activate your product. That's the way Microsoft does things. Starting with Windows Vista, they even require activation on Enterprise licensed products. I doubt this will change.
I don't understand your complaint about the registration key. MS has to have some way of trying to stop people from pirating their software. It doesn't stop everybody but no form of security does.
I don't use Office enough to say if it is better or worse than 2000, 2003, etc. It did take a while to get used to the new layout but it seems fine to me now.
I like Office 2007. Once you use it everyday you will eventually become familar with it. I do know how you feel, as I knew where everything was in 2003 and felt a bit lost in 07. Its a change and thats life - full of changes and we learn everyday. Just practice exercises using 07 and you will get the hang of where everything is. I am planning to do the MOS next year so besides my every day duties at work I am doing other various exercises so that I remain familiar with everything.
I too am not sure what your problem is with the registration Key. Once you purchase and install you should only have to install the product key once. You may be using a trial version.
Right now my biggest challenge is programming. I just started learning programming ( first week ) and I feel so lost. I wish there was simplier way and in "regular" words and sentences. One thing I do know is that programmers should be "very well paid". I think it would be easier for me to read a medical book and diagnose a patient. LOL. Don't know how far I will get but for right now its part of the course and I have to do it.
Good luck with 07 ! Trust me if you keep using it, it will become easier. You do have to look into why you keep having to install the product code.
I'm using "Google Documents" for my needs right now. Would Microsft Office or Word be worth the cost and installation?
