Hey gang,

I'm looking for a device that would allow me to gain access to the keyboard, video, and mouse over the internet. I'd like access to the keyboard and video before the OS loads. It would allow me to simulate someone sitting physically at the computer delivering keystrokes. I'd like this because sometimes the computer gets stuck on a reboot due to some bios warning and needs someone to hit F1 or some other key(s). I know I could set it up to ignore warnings, etc., but it's still nice to have this access.

I know about Dell Remote Access Controller for Dell servers but I was wondering if there was something more generic for regular computers/servers. The video doesn't have to be the best, actually I don't even really care about video (that much) it could be just console level output.

Any ideas?

We have an avocent solution at work for this. Its ssl, and 'coule' be put over the internet but we just use it over the intranet. It gives you full console accesss. We even have at a few problematic sites their surge protectors so I can power cycle a server (even one with 2 power supplies) if it still wont come up. Expensive but good stuff.
