Be able to schedule backups to a network drive in their native format but as compressed files.
Revisions.
Delete older revisions as the drive fills up but I think what is important here is the deletion process doesn't simply delete older revisions based on date but instead also take into account how many revisions a file might have.
Option to backup older revisions to BR before they are permanently deleted.
I want different versions of the files when they change, e.g. if I edit file.txt when the back up runs I want it to keep the old copy in backup and create a new backup file for the new version file.
For example I have a daily database backup that rolls over every week, a weekly backup that rolls over every month, a monthly backup that rolls over every 12 months, I have yearly backup that never rolls over.
I can go back to any year on the day the backup was created.
I can go back to any month for 12 months.
I can go back to any week up to 4 weeks ago.
I can go back any day within the last week.
That's all server side and I want similar thing for file backups on my computer, I'm not concerned about system files. Just irreplaceable data files. Those versions are obviously going to accumulate over time so i need something that is automatically going to purge older files but as I said I would like to be able to put these onto BR before they are purged.
