I just bought a Dell U3014, so now I was running two Dell 30" monitors on my Geforce 570 HD v.c.. Then I bought an HDMI 10' cable to connect my 1920 x 1200 25.5" Samsung Monitor, the HDMI cable is 4K capable. But when I tried 3 monitor capability on my 570 the Nvidia Control Panel said this GPU only supports 2 monitors! That sucks because when the 570 came out it was the 2nd best video card to get, it's good it can handle dual 2560 x 1600 displays but I need it to run an additional 1920 x 1200 display. Now I see reviews on Amazon that the 780 will run triple monitors at 5760 x 1080, but I hope my combo is not a problem - two different screen resolutions. Anyone successfully run a 3 monitor setup like mine? What video card do you use?
I guess the weakest link on my $6800 gaming PC system is the 2.5 year old video card. I don't want to buy the best 780 out there now because the 880 will come out Q1 or Q2 2014 - about time to upgrade my video card! But the 570 can play some games above 40 fps at 2560 x 1600 resolution, but it just runs one monitor.
I guess an SLI setup can easily run 3 monitors - is this your setup and how well does it work?
And what games are triple monitor capable? I heard Battlefield 3 is one. What ARE THE OTHERS?
I run three 27" 1080 monitors on a single GTX 680.
If you want to run an Nvidia card, then you'll need to make sure that your setup supports Surround:
It's a bit less forgiving than Eyefinity, and I don't think that it supports mismatched resolutions.
You'll do better with a mismatched system if you run an AMD card, and Eyefinity, but you'll get weird results (I believe it will force the higher resolution monitors down to match the smallest resolution).
For games... WSGF has a massive list of games that support wide and multi screen setups. Master Game List | WSGF
@ 5760 * 1080, I can run most games on pretty high settings, but not many on ultra settings. I'd guess that you'll need high end cards SLI / crossfire, since you'll be pushing twice the pixel count that I am.
I tried setting all 3 of my monitors to 1920 x 1200 but it still is only capable of running two monitors. I guess 16:10 aspect ratio doesn't get triple monitors support.

And I guess nobody games at 3X 2560 x 1600.
If you check the Config Tool in the Nvidia link;
It's the card: The 570 is only capable of doing surround when in SLI. You have to go to a 590 before a single card will support three monitors.
If you're not actually using the third monitor in-game, an option is to use a USB video adapter. I have done this at home (until the DisplayLink drivers started fighting with my Nvidia drivers) to decent success. The drawback is that it's a bit laggy, but if you're only using it for browsing the net or something, it suffices.
If you go that route, get one with DVI and make sure it supports the resolution you want.
Another option (if not gaming), may be the on CPU graphics ... I don't remember if your CPU / board can do this or not .... but the Ivy Bridge / Z77 combo can push a third display from the HDMI (maybe from the DVI too ??) on the mother board (using the Intel HD4000 on the CUP).
Before I got the 680, I ran an older GTX460, and pushed the third monitor from the motherboard.
So I guess if you want a triple monitor setup you have to go SLI or get the best Nividia v.c out there now, a 780 or Titan. I kinda don't like ATI because I've seen many complaints by games that ATI has poor driver support and their games don't work. Plus Nvidia has Physyxs.
