Hi, good morning: I have the Adobe Reader XI on a Win8 lap. For some reason, it's turning all my jpg files into pdf files! That's not the format I want them in, obviously. Why did it start doing this and more importantly, how can I make it stop???

TIA

That doesn't make any sense at all.
Adobe Reader CANNOT convert a PDF to JPG.

Can you explain exactly what's happening?

I'd guess you have accidentally associated .jpg's with acrobat as the default program to open them with, it wouldn't be changing them into .pdf files but it would appear the way since they open in Acrobat.

Right click any .jpg file and select properties, in the dialog box there should be some text there "Opens with". If it says Acrobat afterward then that's the problem.

Click the "change" button and select a different program like Windows Photo Viewer.

Peregrine is correct, in this case Acrobat was just being used for an image viewer. Ir wasn't converting them to .pdf files. Even if you saved as .pdf the .jpg would be embedded and you can still extract the original .jpg file.

I'm assuming you mean the icons?

Try this:

It's usually a bad idea to put your email address in a public forum where the entire world can see it. Report your own post and ask a Moderator to fix it for you.
