I was logged into my Hotmail account a week or so ago.
I logged out and could not log back in.
The next day I was able to login, and it appears to have been during the time when Hotmail was being revamped into Outlook.
The new format is not very friendly.
If I reply to someone, the sent message shows in the inbox, as part of the one received.
When I click on a message there is nothing there. I have to click on actions and show message.
Any settings to avoid these features?
I forwarded 4 messages to myself to test the system, and all 4 are in one message at the receiving end.
I'd like for them to be 4 individual messages in my Outlook inbox, since they were sent as 4 individual messages.
Where are the settings for this?
To the left of my name was a small gear shaped icon. In there, was an option to switch back to Hotmail.
I did that, pending a look at the help section of Outlook for settings. I think I prefer Hotmail.
Try what vmaxnc said or here are the visual steps:
The above feature was probably copied from Gmail and it was one of the most annoying (default) settings of gmail too. I changed both of them so the messages all appear separately:

Oh well fine, if you want to be all visual aids and stuff...
I will look into these new features of Outlook, and all the settings. Then decide whether to go back to Outlook. Plain ole, like it was, Hotmail was fine for me.
I'm not knowing all the advantages of the new Outlook.

It was fine for me too. I don't like the new look, but since it's free I can't complain.
Options, more options, conversations, show messages individually.
That worked but only until I logged out of Hotmail.
I come back today and have to change Outlook to Hotmail, skip feedback to Microsoft, and go change the settings again for showing messages individually.
I'm not currently seeing a way to make the setting changes permanent.
Sounds like it's time to wean out your Hotmail account and find a different system.
