I have a hard time taking posts like this seriously. The worst ever ... compared to WHAT? From this post, how do we know you have experience with any other customer service department? As others here have noted, the very nature customer service by telephone is problematic. I would absolutely believe that some are better than others but I'm not sold that Dell's is the worst.

It is great for businesses and mediocre for personal.

A good way to know how seriously a company takes support: the ease or difficulty of trying to find the support number for warranty support on the website. Dell makes it very difficult. If you want to pay for support, that's an easy one to find...

I got the dreaded email:

Service Contracts requiring your attention:
Customer ID: 100XXXXXX
Item: LATITUDE E6500
Tag #: XXXXXXX
Expires : 08/28/2012

I got rid of that piece of crap over 2 years ago.

L-O-L. As someone that had to support 7 schools, all full of dell equipment, they are the horrible. The one I remember the most was the troubleshooting steps for a shot motherboard. The motherboard had popped solder, but they wanted to make sure to have me power cycle the computer, and reseat the CPU...

Dell gets all their money contracting anyway.

I've had 3 Dell computers in my life...1 of them is my current desktop & I don't intend to buy anything else fom Dell because I want something different, BUT, I'm sure not giving Dell any more of my business after what happened to me yesterday! I started a thread on it:

I have to say that was the biggest computer purchase mistake that I ever made. I thought a Latitude could replace a ThinkPad .
