I have a newer HP Pavillion laptop and a Logistics wireless mouse, but don't know the model number. Is it possible to get my computer to recognize it? I can't find a cd for it. Would it just be easier to go buy another one?
I suppose you mean Logitech mouse. I have not seen a Logistics mouse.
Many wireless mice have a transmitter/receiver part that connects to the computer via USB. Or is yours a Bluetooth mouse? If it is a BT unit you should be able to pair it with your laptop assuming it has BT capability. Otherwise you'll just plug in the transmitter.

You are correct, logitech. This mouse looks older. It has an on off button and connect button both on bottom. It is called a cordless optical mouse model ce0560. We just had it in a drawer, and thought we could use it. Turns out we are too stupid to figure it out!
The mouse needs a matching USB receiver connected to the USB port on your computer. Dig through the drawer again. The receiver is small and could have been overlooked if you didn't know what it was.

You were right on! Found the darn thing, plugged it in, it is already working. Thank you! If we leave the thing on, will the battery go dead fast? How would we replace the batteries? I know I sound dumb, but don't even see a battery compartment.

There is a small rectangular door on the underside. You will probably need a small knife or a thin coin to open it.
Also, in order for the mouse to work, both the receiver and the mouse have a tiny button that should be pressed at the same time or consecutively so that they could "see each other". The button is located at the bottom of the unit, almost near the lens.
