hi,
as mentioned, i'm just trying to burn a CD from the content of the ipad (music). I have the latest version of Itunes....however, i can't see the 'burn' option under edit->preferences->advance or anywhere else......

i've already created a playlist and placed music in it. i click on the playlist, or on the songs inside the playlist and no burn to CD option seems to be there. (not even under file->burn to CD)

any ideas of what's going on?

Note:
-my music on the IPAD doesn't exist on this computer. could that be an issue?
- my CD drive says RW and i've burnt CDS with it with drag and drop so i don't think that's the problem either...

Yeah, I don't know how you would be able to burn it if it wasn;t on the computer.

but they're on the ipad.......shouldn't that be sufficient?

Also, even if i don't have the ipad connected, should i see the burn option? (or does that show up only after i have something connected?)

iTunes: How to Burn a High-Quality Audio CD

I am 99% certain you cannot burn directly from the iPad to a CD.

You create a playlist in the iTunes application in your computer. Once this playlist is created, you can burn a CD of it. You can also drag the playlist into your iPod or iPad.

Why don't you just move (sync) these songs to the iTunes found on your desktop?

While you can do that, I prefer not to sync. Instead, I have more control of what goes on between the iPod (iPad, etc.) by doing things manually.
