I want to delete a scheduled task that I don't use anymore (Vista). When I right-click the task, "delete" is not offered as an option. When I choose the Action tab, "delete" or "remove" is not an option there, either.
I have a software program for a Flash Cookie cleaner, but it is easier to keep it in my task bar, and just click on it every once in a while during the day, so I don't need it to appear on my screen overnight. Someday I'll actually switch to a better one, that sweeps them out automatically as soon as they appear.
Download a free program called autoruns. Find your cookie cleaner in there and see if it will let you delete it. I'm wondering if its a permissions issue. If you get access denied trying to remove it in autouns, you might need to change some permissions in the registry.
OK, thanks, that appeared to work, I had to choose admistrator authorty, but it finally unchecked it. I won't know until tomorrow morning if it really worked or not.
