Regarding the very first set of pictures - I noticed that the on photo is LA gang grafitti (. 13 is Sur (Southern) California. W/S= Westside, Olive St (major street going from downtown to South Central (called "South LA" now because of bad name). But I take that it's not LA because of the snow on the ground. Have the LA gangs come to Columbus too, or were some photos of other areas mixed in?

Columbus has a lot of LA based gangs and Chicago based gangs, been there for about 20 years now.

With all the people that live in Columbus from Chicago, it's not the most suprising thing to hear.

It would be nice if the mods would rename this thread or clean it up cause the lack of pictures in a picture thread kind of sucks.

Well instead of complaining, why even post in the thread at all? That guy in the city vs city section takes great photos of Columbus, maybe he could come in here and contribute.

These pics are nothing compared to what it really looks like. MOD CUT

I don't know about you but my roots were not in the ghetto. My parents roots were not in the ghetto, nor are my children's roots in the ghetto. Infact the when cities developed they didn't start as ghetto's they started newly built, as the population expanded and people moved to lower income areas said to be "ghettos". They are an after thought not the origin. People with low incomes needed to live some where near work but couldn't afford city life and that's where they lived.

If you really want to get technical ghetto is where the jewish people lived before going to the concentration and death camps. Ghetto is a Venitian slang word. From the italian word borghetto.

You can find many beautiful things in any part of the city regardless of the neighborhood all you need is a truely artistic eye and the ability to find charming character in the society around us.

I don't have many of the city itself, but I do have a set of photos from around the city, out and about. Zoo, pumpkin show, hookah bar, but nothing too special. I'll have to make a note to take some next time I'm out with the camera.

Wow...that is a depressing stream of images! We're considering relocating to the Columbus area...it's so hard to look for housing online as you just don't know what the areas are like from just an internet listing! Right now, we live in Northern Indiana so driving there often is not really feasible for us at the moment. Thanks for the pics though...

This tread ask for pics of Columbus its not like I went to Cleveland and said it was Columbus. These are the areas i'm in almost everyday why should I go to a new area of a city IT HAS NO HISTORY! I'm not some dude that gones around sayin' im a crip or something thats not true Columbus has ghettos just like Dayton and Cleveland. Also just for everyone to know Cleveland is not the most crappy city in Ohio Dayton is everyone. By that statement I mean ghetto.

I live on Hudson st. and Cleveland ave. but I guess its the samething compared to New Albany. Yes I did see ACORN. They were talking to the homeless and they were set up right by the check cashing place......on welfair day.

I'm not looking for a response from all of you people who are over +70. Also sir, how did you know I was mad? Was it when I put F U? or ?
I never was mad lol
idk; Cleveland does have some rough areas. I would say that Dayton is worse overall, and that Cleveland is uneven, some good, some bad. Cleveland's best is better than Dayton, worst is about on par with Dayton.
