Hi,

I'm a single, 20something moving to the area that just accepted a job in Zanesville. Being young and single, I'm looking to be as close to Columbus as possible, but still less than an hour from work. A few of my interests include golf, running, cycling, and bars/nightlife. I also like a cool neighborhood where you can sit outside, enjoy a beverage, and people watch. I'd really like to move into a neighborhood that's ethnicly diverse if possible.

Thread me, maybe?

Thanks,

Dave

I'd recommend living near Easton town center for being near things to do, or in Pickerington to be about 10 minutes closer to Zanesville. Pickerington is cool little town with tons of stores and restaurants. I'd also recommend something like a TDI diesel Volkswagen for that 100% highway commute. Good luck and congrats on the new job.

I'd recommend some of the city neighborhoods like the Short North, German Village, Old Town East or the Arena District. Easton is a nice shopping area, but I think you'd grow tired of going to a mall for your nightlife, not to mention the fact that the areas around Easton (particularly to the west and south) aren't particularly nice.

if you're going to work in Zanesville and commuting, then I would not look at any place downtown or even Easton - it's going to be too far to be less than an hour.

My family is in Zville and I live in Blacklick - it take a bit over an hour to get to Zville from there. If I were you, I'd look at Pataskala or even Newark - closer to Columbus than Zanesville but only perhaps 45 minutes to Zville.

good luck!

Hey guys - Thanks so much for your input. I think I'm going to go with the Pinkerington/Reynoldsburg area. Close to the golf course, highway, and downtown isn't too far. Cbusabq - I like your thinking on the TDI. I'm scouring autotrader for one now. If any of you know someone that's looking to sell a newer, lower mileage vehicle (35-45 mpg) that isn't a yarris, let me know! davidrmuehling@gmail.com Thanks!
