Moving to Columbus with children (one school age). Can you help me find an area that fits most of these. . . great schools, shopping (Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Nordstroms, Borders, etc.), newer homes, young families and no more than 45 min to an airport.

Thank you!

I'm not sure of your price range, but Lewis Center comes to mind. It seems to fit all the criteria you mentioned. It is close to Polaris and shopping, has one of the best school districts, it is a newer development and 30-40mins from airport.

Dublin has a Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, great schools and is close enough to Polaris or Tuttle for shopping. It is on the opposite side of town from the airport but Columbus is small with a good freeway system and little traffic. I think that would be your best fit.

Other options to look at: Upper Arlington, New Albany, Worthington, Bexley and the aforementioned Lewis Center. Those all have great school districts and some of the ammenities you are looking for.

Dublin sounds like it fits the bill for you, but don't rule out other areas. Pretty much anything in Columbus is not more than 1/2 hour-40 minutes away from anything else (or so it seems) so looking in Upper Arlington or Worthington is also worthwhile. One other thing to consider--depending on where jobs are, I recommend trying to live inside the 270 outerbelt if you work on Campus or downtown. Traffic isn't much in Columbus, but the outerbelt does snarl up at times. Parts of Worthington has the advantage of access to the Olentangy Bike Path--wonderful!

Yea, you're never going to be more than 45 minutes from any part of Columbus metro, even in traffic. Unless maybe there's a snowstorm...

Well, Easton is 5 minutes away from most of what you listed. Are you buying or renting?
