I thought this was supposed to end magically right after the election - especially if Biden won. Yet another in the long list of things that the QAnon cultists have gotten wrong.

Really looking forward to Biden's DOJ cracking down on them and all the right-wing hate groups that have thrived during the Trump presidency.

"Colorado continued to see novel coronavirus cases and hospitalizations increase during the Thanksgiving holiday, with 1,682 people in the hospital with confirmed COVID-19 on Friday.

The state Department of Public Health and Environment also reported another 3,891 new infections Friday afternoon.

The agency reported 5,507 new COVID-19 cases on Thanksgiving Day, a more than 50% increase from the day before, and 1,665 people in the hospital with the virus."

since symptoms lag 6+ days and test results sometimes 3 days... give it 10 - 15 days after Thanksgiving to see the actual numbers relevant to the holiday.

It wasn't just the Qultists that espoused that prediction. It was a talking point among the mainstream right. And Q has been completely silent since the election I believe.

That said, if you want to know more about the origins of QAnon, listen to a podcast called Reply All, episode #166 - A Country of Liars. It's most likely a creepy American expat in the Philippines that has control of the account. It's beyond ridiculous that a bunch of Dale Gribble-like characters and sexually frustrated, anime-obsessed trolls have this much sway over political discourse. I've been plugged into youth internet culture since the mid-2000s, and I've watched from afar as the image boards (4chan, 8chan, etc.) transformed from meme originators and child porn peddlers (seriously, these sites are vile) to the last straw that 40+% of the American electorate are grasping onto.

I don’t think acceptance of QAnon is as widespread as most people think. Most Republicans I know don’t know what it is, while I find that my Democratic friends are the ones who talk about it, since they think all Republicans automatically support/believe in it.

To get back on topic, I’m surprised that nobody has mentioned that both Gov Polis and our First Gentleman have tested positive for COVID. Wishing them a speedy recovery.

Yet here in our congressional district, look who got sent to Congress (Boebart).

Of course, I join you in wishing Gov. Polis and partner good health and recovery.

Good thing Polis took his own advice for Thanksgiving as opposed to Michael Hancock. Polis would have exposed his parents. I've always thought Hancock was a sleaze, but his most recent stunt where he sent out a "don't travel for Thanksgiving" PSA literally from the airport terminal, followed by his "sorry you feel that way" apology, pushed me from "not a fan" to "I'll sign a recall petition".

That said, most of the conspiracies Republicans depend on to justify their flaunting of covid precautions and claims of mass voter fraud (but only for the presidency, mind you, none of the down ballot races) actually have their origins in QAnon posts. They'll parrot claims made by the president, their favorite talk show hosts, and Facebook memes without knowing where said people got their information.

Don’t get me going on the collective denial of insanity.

The virus does not give a patootie about politics. Too bad the other way around isn’t uniformly true. Let’s hope for a return to—not “normal,” but—rational behavior.

Hancock sucks. I think his son has been in trouble with the law on multiple occasions. he should resign from this.

Question on Polis, was he distancing and wearing a mask? If so, how effective are these measures? I know 1 family in my hood that are hard core liberals, want the country to shut down completely, wear a mask while in their cars alone....yet got Covid.

The local shops/restraunts near me are pleading for donations and anything they can to not go under. its pretty sad and also lame that you can't indoor dine in a building but you can in a tent.....Science?

Wearing a mask and social distancing only slow the spread. They're not 100% effective.

There was a CDC report on COVID cases a couple months ago where a really high number of those infected (I wanna say 85% or more) reported they wore masks. Of course the conspiracy theory nutters and right-wing talk show hosts ran with that (without context). Most of the people who were infected also reported that they had been eating out indoors. You go in, sit down, and take off your mask to eat. God knows how poor the ventilation systems are in most of these restaurants. You're basically sharing a space with who knows how many infected people, and there's no telling how long the virus hangs in the air.

If you're eating in a small semi-enclosed structure outdoors the theory is you're less likely to be exposed to the virus and the fresh air can be used to ventilate the structure better. Is it 100% effective? Again, no.

Most of the COVID cases over the last 6-12 weeks have been caused by dumbasses having small indoor gatherings with people outside their household. The high number of cases that prompted CCSD to go all-remote were by-and-large caused by students (and their families) having fake Homecoming parties. You add to that colder weather forcing people to stay indoors more, and, voila, you get the surge we are currently experiencing.

People (including Michael Hancock and Lauren "Turkey Funeral" QBert) need to stop being morons.
