Being in the mountains would be fun. My goal is to get a cabin someday. The biggest issue I am going to face is renting my house. It has been in the family since my grandparents had it built in 1959 and while its way to large for me its not something I want to sell. So I am going to take the next 6 months and get it organized then put it on the rental market. If everything works out right hopefully I could be in my new condo on the Riverwalk by next summer.

There is a 70% chance I will be living there by next summer.

Oh there is a HOA. That will keep me from moving there. I refuse to live in a HOA.
Not aware of any condos that do not have an HOA. A condo by definition has common elements.
And I believe common elements require an HOA. Good luck with you move downtown.

This might be contradictory but I don't have a problem with Condo associations nearly as much as I do HOA's. I guess I see a difference between owning a condo in a building versus owning your own house on your own land.

Thanks! In a perfect world I would move there by next summer. In the real world I will have to see if everything works right to make that move possible.

A big thank you to everyone who has posted. You've all been really helpful. Unfortunately, we will not be able to move west, but will need to stay back east, at least for now. :-( I was REALLY looking forward to Pueblo and am not happy about the situation, but... bloom where you are planted, eh?

Perhaps someday.
