Hi. My boyfriend and I are thinking of moving to Colorado and have NO IDEA where to go. Hoping someone can help us out. I am a Speech Pathologist and would be looking for work in a hospital setting. My boyfriend works from home, so we need a nice size apartment that would be condusive to him being at home all day. We have a dog, so having a back yard would be nice. We are both extremely active; we enjoy hiking, running, cycling...pretty much everything. I would also like to be somewhat in the middle of the "action" - good places to eat, fun areas to walk around, etc.

So, does anyone have a suggestion of a good place to work - close to a hospital, nice place to rent an apartment/house with a back yard or dog park nearby, and a city? We were thinking the downtown Boulder or Denver area.

Neither of us have been to Colorado in years, so when we make our trip out there in the next few weeks, we'd like to have an idea of some good cities to choose from.

Thanks!!!

Both of your initial areas would work very well. Boulder would be the clear choice, especially since there are townhouses that abutt the foothills making hiking a daily option. Homes in the area are pretty pricey and like lakefront or oceanfront living, you are paying for proximity. Between two working professionals, it shouldn't be an issue unless you are both still paying off huge school loans.

I would recommend La Porte. I have a seena acouple of speech/language pathology jobs in the Coloradoan in the past week. you should look at t their classifieds online. Almost everyone in this area is active in some sort of outdoor sport.
