We're looking at doing a 1/2 day rafting trip out of Glenwood Springs in late June. Does anyone have suggestions as to which company we should use? Thanks.

Lots of us here. Obviously no-one knows the answer to your question, or they would have done so.

The rafting I've done is out of Buena Vista and Salida, on the Arkansas River. Not sure how good the rafting is this year with the reduced snow and reduced run-off.

Lakota Guides, Nova Guides and Timberline Tours all run trips on the canyon and I've never heard any complaints. Timberline seems to have a lot of experienced people.

While I didn't book whitewater rafting through them, I did use Glenwood Adventure Company for a sunset dinner quad trip one day and fly fishing excursion on the Colorado River the next. We had a very enjoyable time and the company was very accommodating to us -- despite having a minimum requirement to take out a sunset dinner quad trip, they waived the minimum and took my husband, daughter and me out. The float trip fishing guide was very knowledgeable, and although the river was running very high early last July, he got us into the best areas and onto a lot of trout.
