My wife and I have just contracted to build a new home out in Claremont ranch. I'm supposed to start my job out at Schriever AFB July 30th, but The home will probably not be ready to move in until late August or September. Is anyone aware of a good place to live for just one or two months. We'd really like a kitchen (or at least a refrigerator and microwave), and we need to be able to lease month by month. Probably the best would be to live in someone's basement apartment or something, but those are hard to find. We're trying to find something for 6-800 including utilities. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tejay

hey there- I would suggest the Homeward Suites. Or Extend a Stay. They cost about the same but you have the cleaning service come in and clean your room, etc. I had a friend do it and she said it was fine, she had 2 kids too. bashep

The Marriot Residence Inn on Academy and Austin Bluffs is pretty nice. A friend of mine stayed there for a long weekend just so she could get out of the house and relax a little.

It's close to shopping, lots of restaurants in the area and King Soopers is basically (well sort of) right across the street. They do have penthouse suites that have two bedroom options, full kitchens, a play area for kids and a pool.

The drive to Schriever shouldn't take all that long to get to. Austin Bluffs to Barnes east then to Powers and head south. I've never been to Schriever myself but I think that's how to get there.

We had the similar situation when we moved here last August. Our home would not be ready until a couple months after we get here for kids' school. We found an apartment that would do month 2 month which is very rare now adays. Its the Vista view apartments off of Union near Woodmen (5537 N Union Blvd Colorado Springs, CO 80918 (719) 598-1259). The lady who manages the place was very nice. We wanted a 1 bdrm for $675 with laundry in the apt, but we ended up getting 2 bdrm and she did not charge us extra since it was for a short time. That was much cheaper and more comfortable than than hotel/motels. Hope that helps.
