I've always maintained my own yard, but as I get older my disabilities are making it harder every year. For whatever reason, the weeds and crabgrass in my lawn are worse this year than ever. I cannot seem to get a handle on them. Does anyone have a lawn care service they can recommend? A good company that's affordable and doesn't require a 5-year contact? Much appreciated!

I use Lawn Doctor, 719-596-0740. I pay in full in December for the year ahead, no five year contract.

Where are you located? I've a super good independent guy here in the Briargate area who does great work at mowing, trimming, edging and aeration. He also washes windows, inside and/or outside and does it at half price for his lawn customers. Charlie's Castle Care.

Lawn doctor will also do aeration. They put down regular weed killer, both on the lawn and, if you pay extra, on the rock areas too, and if I get a batch of weeds popping up, they come out and zap them anytime I call. They also do perimeter pest/bug control spraying.

Thanks Mike, figured you could recommend somebody credible! I'm up in the Mountain Shadows area, just east of Flying W Ranch.
