What exactly could I do with this? I am already in the works (pre-reqs) to become a physician assistant, but I would like to do "stints" in public health. How would I get my foot in the door? Does anyone work here on the board work in public health that could give me some insight in what the job market is like and whether it would be worth it? Right now, I am working as a respiratory therapist and I volunteer regularly at a free clinic.
MPH in Epi is pretty useful at medical university hospitals, you will be involved with a lot of research. You can also do consulting for pharmaceutical companies although big pharama is losing a lot of money. A degree is statistics (NOT biostat) is a lot more flexible and you can branch out to finance and banking as well as other public sectors.
