It has got to be hard to get good coaches to live in Lubbock, TX.
It really isn't...it's a beautiful campus with a redeveloped neighborhood around it, in a fast-growing city. Plus, one can get a really nice house for less than in larger cities, which is helpful for assistants.
I would have preferred Ruffin, but Tuberville is a great choice as well. I think Tech would have lost face had they chosen anyone outside those two. I have a hard time believing that he won't change the offence though, considering he's known for his defensive and running games. I'm looking forward to this next season, and it will certainly be interesting.

Yep, Ears is definitely an upgrade, but its probably going to be a process. He was at his best when his Allbarn teams ran out of the I-formation and played tough defense. Not sure the nature of Big XII offenses will make that possible. Will be interesting and wish him luck.

I watched his press conference this afternoon and he said that he plans to keep the air-raid type offense but there will be a little more emphasis on the running game. I guess we'll see how much he actually changes things up. If he can make the defense better, which I think he will, that could make things a lot more interesting in the Big 12 south. Even though I'm still disgusted at the way the whole Leach firing was handled, I think Tuberville is a good hire for Tech. He's a proven winner so I hope he can elevate our program.

As a Sooner and Big 12 South fan, I think Tubberville will definitely elevate Texas Tech. IMO, this is good for the Big 12 South (generally the best overall division in college football) and the Big 12 overall.
Yes, I agree the whole ordeal with Leach was way overblown....I think Tech will be losing a ton more money than expected with his counter lawsuit. Tubberville is definitely on par with Leach, however, and a good acquisition.
I'm excited for next year, I think the Big 12 South could be back on top.
Tuberville was basically railroaded out of Auburn wasnt he cause the big booster didnt like him? Good pick up for tech.
They had been trying to get rid of him for a few years, and it had little to do with his ability to coach.
