And Bama with their starting QB was that much better? Bama's offense had 288 total yards..that is WITH their whole 1st team offense.

FSU had 209 total years with what amounted to their 3rd string offense against 1st team UGA. Seems to me the committee's argument is null and void.

Based on the CFP committee’s logic of choosing the 4 best teams (and putting AL in), GA should have been in the top 4.

The two bowl games on New Year's Day were excellent.

Next Monday, 8 Jan 2024, the college championship will be played by Washington and Michigan. In 1998 my wife and I saw those two teams play in the Rose Bowl; we had a package tour that included reserved seats for the Rose Parade, the game, etc.

Little doubt they were one of the top 4 teams. My guess is if they played AL again, they would win by at least a TD, if not more.

While I do put the caveat FSU was playing 2nd and 3rd string all over, UGA looked damn impressive. Hard for me to say they were not one of the 4 best. Easy after the fact, but should have been:

1. Michigan
2. Washington
3. FSU
4. UGA

But alas, was not to be.

Oh absolutely, however the very clear bias toward Saban/Alabama prevented that. The gushing over Texas was also nauseating the week preceding the game leading one to wonder should UW even show up to play? Also something really needs to be done with corporate media influencing (ESPN-ABC/CBS) regarding playoff selection, especially given the increased focus on odds/betting.

SEC was a mediocre conference this year. Thanks to Bama for helping prove that.

Next year will be a much better playoff system. Still wish they could play best of 3 games, but I know that’s a dream.
