If a win over OU equates to a national championship, then Notre Dame would have won it last year...which they did not of course. Texas beat up on the Sooners this year...what does that tell you?
Speaking of OU, I was watchin the game with some barstoolers last night and the word 'soft' came up in the conversation to describe OU. I never thought I'd see the day when the OU Sooners under Bob Stoops would be labeled soft, but by hell, I think they are. They and the rest of the Big 12 need to stop playin flag football and get back to the grind it out stuff that made them the most feared conference in football at one time. Maybe Barry Switzer still has some juice left in him.
Baylor beat a massively overrated OU team. OU's defense had Baylor completely out of whack for a quarter and a half - but couldn't sustain that play. OU has a pathetic offense.
A team with a real defense and offense will paste Baylor into the turf. A team like Alabama. Or Stanford.

OU had control of Baylor's offense for all of about five minutes in the first half before the floodgates finally opened. OU's defense is far from stellar. Their offense isn't necessarily going to keep opposing offenses off the field. Stanford and Alabama's grind it out way of playing would be much harder for Baylor to deal with.
I was pointing this out back in 2011 when all of the butthurt about an all-SEC title was going on. The high-scoring shoot-outs might be exciting to watch, but it's not really how the game is supposed to be played. Teams with fundamentals of ball control and a strong front four, along with some good secondary support, are going to win - every time.
It is unlikely Baylor will get a shot at the NC due to the BCS system. Playoffs will help remedy this in the future but for now 2 teams have to lose for Baylor to get a shot.
no.. nice game though..
They are gonna need a lot more help.. Oregon is out of the way.. they need FSU, OSU, Bama and probably Stanford to lose..
Otherwise the only Championship they are gonna win is the Big XII...
Oh yeah, lots of things need to go Baylor's way for them to have a shot at the national title...lol. They'll win the Big 12 for sure. I was very impressed with Baylor in that game last night. They are legit. They're playing very well on both sides of the ball.

I agree! Baylor is going to have to cough up some more cash to keep Briles there...lol. What Briles has done at Baylor is really extraordinary. They were the doormat of the conference for so many years. I always knew Art Briles would be really good if he got a chance to coach at the college level. When he was the head coach at Stephenville High School here in Texas they won several state championships.
