Pac-12 can. Washington (Moon 5, Brunell 31, Chandler 46), Stanford (Elway 4, Brodie 32) & USC (Palmer 40) are in the top 5 (with Notre Dame & Purdue) of schools with the most NFL passing yards from their alums. Oregon (Fouts 11) & UCLA (Aikman 27) are in the top 10, and California and Arizona State (Plummer 42) are in the top 20. Washington State produced a top 10 passer in Bledsoe (10).

Y'all are funny counting old Miami alums as ACC when they didn't play in the ACC... That's funny.

It's based on current conference affiliation. The #s will change in a few years with Maryland (Esiason) moving to the Big Can't Count Conference & Syracuse (McNabb), Pitt (Marino), & Louisville (Unitias) joining the ACC.
If the list were by conference at the time they played, the Pac-10 would be even further elite above everyone else.
Testaverde and Kelly are not listed in any ACC record books and don't have any ACC championships. they havent even played in an ACC game... Period.
This goes for the 4 SEC schools that weren't always a part of the conf and for every school that has moved confs. The new conf does not get to claim the historic players as alumni to the conf because they are not.

Again, this is about the programs and their current affiliations. If you want to make the Pac-10 look even better & the SEC look worse, be my guest and recompile the list based on those antiquated associations.
In my opinion the player's connection with their school greatly trumps their association with their school's conference affiliation.
OK, what has Stafford or Newton ever won? How did Eli do this year. Scratch all three, and keep ONLY Peyton.
Well...if you want to look at it from a very narrow viewpoint then that is your choice. But Eli has won two Super Bowls and was MVP both times. Newton and Stafford are both still very new to the league but both are very good QBs. Granted there aren't as many starting QBs from the SEC as there are from other leagues, but the SEC has produced some very good ones.
The SEC's past as a run dominated league is probably over. This year's draft will include many SEC quarterbacks, with more to come next year.
Johnny Manziel
Aaron Murray
AJ McCarron
Zach Mettenberger
James Franklin (Missouri)
