Well I guess this wasn't surprise after finishing the season 2-14. What would be surprising is if he gets another coaching job in 2011.

The most obvious 2011 job opening for a coach now has finally happened. As a Panthers fan, John Fox is a good coach but it was time for him to go. I'm sure he'll get another opportunity somewhere.

As for the Panthers, I'd think Russ Grimm or Ron Rivera would be the most likely choices. Everyone says Cowher but Cowher doesn't want to be in Carolina and Jerry Richardson won't open his wallet for him anyway.

Some say he is relieved to go....team owners have gotten so cheap and he is left to hold the bag in the public eye, with the cheapest roster in the league right now.

At the very least, someone will give him a coordinator job.

They haven't made the best player personnel moves the past 5 years. They've let some good players get away from them in free agency and they haven't drafted well. The contract they gave Jake Delhomme was a absolute disaster.

They should've released John Fox when Jake Delhomme left the team.
