I love watching games on tv there. Nice setting. Hope to get there sometime.

Here's a link to a message board. Scroll down a bit and there is an email written by the Montana AD. It is in reference to Montana moving to the WAC. Interesting stuff. Inside look at how college athletics work.
They lost a lot of people and their new coach is clown shoes, so I guess you gotta rebuild sometime. It's an awesome game day environment.

Isn't Carson-Newman a little east of Knoxville?

Sure is, off of Hwy 40 onto HWY 11 out to Jefferson City. There is a surprising amount of Dayton area people who attend UT and Carson-Newman.

I lived a little west of Knoxville. There were a lot of people from Dayton and Detroit that lived there.

It's hysterical you consider any division in NCAA 'lower' than the NAIA!!

Yeah, that was my thought too. NCAA Division III might be lower than NAIA, but that's fairly close. I think NCAA Division II is much better than NAIA.

I do follow a few teams in Division I-A fairly closely, and collectively things have been tough so far:

Lehigh (3-1): Had a tight win over Liberty at home last week. The 2010 Patriot League champs' only loss was a barnburner in overtime against New Hampshire at home (a game I attended). They host Yale this week.

Lafayette (1-3): Lost to Stony Brook last week. Ugh. The 2010 woes are continuing. They finally play their home opener against Harvard this week.

Penn (0-2): Lost badly at home to Lafayette in their opener (a game I attended) and couldn't break through against Villanova, a team they always play tough but lose to, last week. The 2-time defending Ivy League champs start league play this week against Dartmouth.

Villanova (1-3): Have been a big shock in a negative way, but finally broke into the win column last week against Penn. They face a stiff test against William & Mary this week.

Go Roadrunners!

I graduated from UT, but I went to UTSA for one year... they used to have those shirts that said "UTSA football... still undefeated." I guess they will have to throw those away now...
