We're seriously thinking of moving to NC, specifically Magnolia Greens in Leland. I'd be interesting in corresponding with folks who live there now as to how they like the community, how friendly are the other residents, what are the costs like (have the HOA fees risen or been steady) - taxes, utilities - that kind of information. Are doctors available for new patients (Medicare)?

We've made reservations to spend a week in a condo at Magnolia Greens at the end of September to see if we can get a feel for the place.

If not Magnolia Greens, what are some other communities in the area.

We are retired, golfers, fairly outgoing, enjoy being with people, currently living on Cape Cod (gorgeous here but outrageously expensive and probably will get worse with the passage of the Cape Wind Farm).

Thank you so much to anyone who responds with either information or links to information. I've checked out the Magnolia Greens website but it's mostly just sales info.

I would suggest checking out Compass Pointe while you are there. It is very close to Magnolia Greens. It's a very new community (golf course and amenity center are due to be completed this year). It has a lot to offer and the prices are good while it is still ramping up.

We are looking at Leland/Wilmington as well, and keep finding ourselves looking at houses in Magnolia Greens for the space, amenities, and low HOAs. Plus, proximity to Wilmington and the beaches. We're from the Chicago suburbs and may rent in the area first to see if we can survive the humidity and find enough to do. Any feedback from fellow searchers or those who decided for/against?

We also are very interested in Magnolia for those reasons taking a drive down in 2 weeks -we've already visited Brunswick loved it but houses a little close together the HOA seems kinda high although maybe well worth it - Compass point was beautiful as well but houses a little to close together as well - we are going to visit Southport as well this visit. Any input from current residents? Thanks
