My twin daughters are moving to Wilmington today to attend UNC at Wilmington. They both attended and graduated from a Junior College here in Maryland. In early summer, they put their heads together and rented a half a house (sight unseen) in Wilmington over the internet. I am worried sick..mostly because they had no idea what the house was really like, but especially because they have no idea what the neighborhood is like...Does anyone know the specific demographics of Wilmington? The house they are renting is on Bear Court. Thanks in advance for your help. Worried Mom in MD

Hi jasjam,

I lived in Wilmington for 11 years, moved from there 3 years ago. I pretty much knew the in's and out's around Wilmington. I'll try to help you out. When I did a mapquest it took me into the neighborhood called Farrington Farms. Does this sound familiar? Or maybe even Courtney Pines? If you are worried that they are in the middle of some ghetto, no they are not. It is surrounded by middle class homes from people with families to retirees. Hope this makes you feel better.

Great News. Thanks to everyone who knows that area. I feel so much better. Any job hunting advice? Both girls worked in retail as managers.... they have great work histories. One had her last job at Mikasa for two years. Are their retail areas in Wilmington that are looking for dependable help?

Thanks again..!!!!!
