I have been looking into settling in the NC area from metro Detroit. I am 23, and my girlfriend and I are ready to get to warmer climates. I have been thinking Charlotte for a few months now, but found a great job opportunity in New Bern. How is the city for young professionals? Are there things to do? Cost of living vs. Charlotte? Thanks!

I dont live very far from New Bern. Raleigh is actually a very cool place for young professional singles.
What else do you want to know?

New Bern is a neat City but I'm not sure that it would be the place for young professionals. Not much of a night life and it's kind of isolated. On the plus side, it's not too far from the beach. But what the heck, your young. Give it a whirl. If it's not your thing, Raleigh is just a few hours down the road.
