New Brewery expected to open in Fall

I remember walking past this building and thinking how similar it looked to Front Street Brewery in Wilmington, and now a brewery is going in there!

That's awesome news! I wondered how long that space was going to be open. It's been sitting there renovated for years. I am not that fond of the name, especially since there's already a brewery in Nebraska with the name. It will be some trouble if they want to really become a full fledged brewery and branch outside of NC. Greenville Brewing Company sounds fine and appears to be available. They may change the name at some point like Trollingwood did (used to be called Long Leaf). Glad to have another brewery in the city. Trollingwood does well and I'm sure this one will be successful.

Glad that building has a tenant, and though it sat vacant for a while I think it was smart for the owner to be picky and wait for the right situation

Maybe that will lead to some investment in other buildings nearby the Brewery...there are a few that need to be gutted and redone.

Major safety upgrades coming soon for 10th Street in Greenville

NCDOT says it's their goal to place a new light on 10th within eight weeks.

Despite the value for safety which I agree with, a light here is going to wreak havoc on traffic through this area. If you've ever been through this area at rush hour, flow is horrible at best. A light here is going to heavily back up traffic eastbound on 10th street including traffic coming in from 264. I've dreaded this day and wish they could come up with another plan.

Have Greenville or Pitt county's economic development folks commented on any adverse affects from HB2 down east? All the pub comes from CLT and RDU but I wonder if smaller metros have lost business to the law yet...

Time will tell, but I think it's far enough down 10th to not make a huge impact. I"m sure the light can be adjusted to make sure it gets the cars and people safely out to 10th street fairly quickly. (I'm sure they could account for peak times) That 10th street corridor between Ollie's/Walgreens and the student apartments is a death trap. There should be all sorts of median barriers and right-turn only entrances and exits at most of the businesses in that stretch.

When they put the light up in front of Best Buy I thought the same thing would happen and it didn't. As long as they make the cross traffic time slots short, it shouldn't cause backups.

I wonder if something like a Michigan Left would work there?

Whatever is done, HOPEFULLY the traffic light will be operational only during daylight hours.

Greenville REALLY needs to add the blinking red/yellow traffic light at night. There is nothing more frustrating than having to stop at one of those 6 stoplights on Stantonsburg at 10pm, with almost zero traffic around.
