We're heading down next week to look at lots in Oyster Harbor and a few other places. Can anyone tell me the good and bad points associated with the community? Thanks!

I had never heard of it before. It appears to be thinly developed, although there are tennis courts, a pool and boat storage. I would talk to the residents about how much social life there is and how many mosquitoes are around in the summer. Good luck with your search for a lot.

Five and a half years later, I have the same question. Does anyone on this board live there?

Did it flood during Florence?
Is the traffic bad into Shallotte for groceries, etc?
Are there community clubs/groups?
What are the good and bad points?
Anything else?

Thanks in advance.

The 5 years silence suggests there are no residents participating from this board.

The flood risk is a valid concern as the development lies between a shallow river and the Intracoastal waterway. You could check lot addresses at this resource: https://fris.nc.gov/fris/Home.aspx?ST=NC

The HOA's web site makes it look nice: https://oysterharbourhoa.com/
The dock and boat launch on the Intracoastal would be a great asset. The web site also mentions clubs meeting in the clubhouse which has a kitchen.

Regarding traffic, we have learned not to go anywhere on Saturdays during the summer. That is when most of the weekly beach house rentals turn over, and many new people spend their time shopping in the grocery stores.

Good luck with a future visit.
