Anyone know anything about Winding River, good place to live? We hear about the other plantations, but not Winding River. Would like to hear from residents. Good or bad?

Very good, i have a very good friend who lives there. If you go down to visit St James drop in to see it, you won't be dissapointed.

Smile Winding River Plantation

marcanme;

We are not residents yet, however on this past visit to the area, just two weeks ago, we selected Winding River Plantation, purchased a lot, picked a builder and floor plan and signed a contract.

There are many nice communities in the area. One thing that may be different at WR is it is all sold out. WR was sold out several years after opening, all properties are now re-sales. Therefore, the developer is no longer involved in advertising/promoting the community.

We sort of stumbled onto WR ourselves, while driving around. We turned in off 211 and took the third right off Zion and drove to the Boathouse, fell in love.

We looked at a number of communities in the area over a two year period. We selected Winding River after speaking with a number of folks that live there.

Hope this is helpful.

We are also looking at WR resale homes on the internet and like what we see. We plan to tour the homes when we visit in two weeks for the parade of homes.

Do any WR residents know the commuting time from WR to Whole Foods in Wilmington? Most of the internet sites are not the most reliable source for drive time.

40 - 45 minutes real drive time, not at rush hour.
