I have a truck in need of a good, experienced driver. I just bought another truck to expand my fleet. I am a small fleet owner leased to a mid sized carrier. That does not mean that I can hire just anybody though, sorry. You must have a good MVR and criminal history. You MUST either live in the midwest(MN,IA,IL), the Atlanta or North Georgia area, or on the I-24 corridor between these two areas. Those who are successful with the company that I am leased to usually stay out for 3 or 4 weeks at a time and then take a decent amount of time off. If you live in the area(s) that I described, you may also get through the house while under a load during that period of time as well.
The company operates on a load choice type dispatch system, thus you have non-forced dispatch even for a company driver. We run mainly from the midwest to the southeast and back, and the midwest to the west coast(mostly Southern California) and back. You are paid through the carrier that I am leased to. They have a payroll department that handles driver payroll on behalf of the fleet owners. This gives you piece of mind in knowing that you will get paid BEFORE I ever see a dime of my money. This also means that you will be paid as an employee with taxes withheld and receive a w2 at the end of the year and not a 1099. I will openly admit that the base pay is a little bit on the low side, but with automatic productivity bonuses and fuel bonuses, you have the potential to make a decent wage.
I refuse to sugar coat anything. If you need weekend hometime, sorry, but I can't help you. If you need a fast, shiny large car to drive, once again, sorry but I can't help you. The only thing unique that I really have to offer is respect, and freedom. As long as you run a reasonable number of miles, don't tear up my equipment, and have a professional attitude and are reliable, I will allow you to run the truck as if you were the owner operator leased to the company with no interferance whatsoever from me.
I can and am willing to put you in contact with both the carrier I am leased to as well as a current driver who can verify the previously stated information.
If you have a genuine interest in this job offer, and think you meet the criteria, please contact me through a direct message.
