Renting in Miami

Hi,
i am from egypt .i will attend to miami university starting from 4th march 2008 at Jackson Memorial Hospital .i am 31 years old straight .occationally smoke outside .
i need a room of about 400-500$ near the hospital or metrorail station .

Hi-
I lived in Miami for many years. Rent has gone up a lot, and unfortunately you will not find an apt. for that price. However, you will find an efficiency for the same price. Try to use the "Miami Flyer" for rentals. The area of the Jackson Memorial Hospital is not an ideal area to live as it is very close to down town. Try to check out the SW area neighborhoods as opposed to the NW. If you smoke, you will have a more difficult time finding a landlord that allows smoking inside, specially in an efficiency. This is because of the air conditioning system which will spread the smoke all over the house. The good thing is that most efficiences include all the utilities, like water and electricity and sometimes even cable. If you don;t mind taking the metrorail look in SouthMiami, Westchester or kendall. They are about 10-15 from the Hospital. One thing though, public trasnsportation is very innefficient, and most people drive because of the weather. Very hot and humid and lots of rain. Good luck to you!
