I have never been to Asheville, NC, but I have been told good things about it...

I am from Burlington, Vermont and absolutely love it, and am wondering how Asheville is similar to and different from Burlington?

Thanks!

Feel free to PM me, too

Pretty simple--

Asheville probably isn't quite as granola as Burlington is in some respects, but I would say almost equally liberal. Asheville has a considerably larger gay population. You can also go outside in December without long underwear......

That should cover it! I'd recommend it if you like Burlington but you'd like to be warmer.

Burlington was crunchy over 20+ yrs ago (hence Ben & Jerry)

Asheville is relatively "new" crunchy but caught up pretty quickly
