It is considered part of the BosWash corridor, so yes, it is mostly N'Eastern.

No.

It is indeed in the BoshWash corridor (notice the last part) and the sort of the "gateway" as you will to the Northeast.

But D.C. is in "the South". That was kind of the whole point of building it. When the country was being formed, the location of the Federal Capital in the south was a compromise between the Northern and Southern states on the issue of debts from the Revolutionary War and structure of the Federal government.

But it is culturally and politically northern in its orientation.

How so? All big cities have about the same political and cultural leanings (some more than others).

And don't get started on this whole density, Civil War, rowhouse nonsense.

It's a Southern city because of it's location. End of story.

No, it doesn't work that way. That would make Miami a Southern city, and MOST people will agree it's not one at all.

LOL! I always chuckle at that. Miami is definitley in the South.

Just because it doesn't fit your stereotypical view of what a Southern city is doesn't mean it isn't one.
