DALLAS, HOUSTON, SAN ANTONIO, AUSTIN, RIO GRANDE VALLEY
Yea, Rio Grande Valley is not a city but it is a bunch of small cities that are tightly packed together that form what I see as a city as big as San Antonio or Austin. Anyway. Vote for the one you think offers the best living conditions in terms of job security, good schools, low crime rate, affordable real state prices, etc.....

I had my choice of any place in the state (or country, for that matter). Couldn't leave Texas - too freakin' awesome. So I picked the best place there: DFW.

(Not an insult... it's just I think the Dallas crime rate was making the bad lists within the last several years...)

I vote Houston... state's largest city with excellent big-city amenities such as culture/arts, museums, great restaurant scene, huge medical center. Similar to Dallas in size and amenities, but with more of the laid-back and friendly vibe of Austin. And close to historic Galveston and beaches!

The proximity to the beach is the only plus i see for Houston. I enjoyed San Antonio much more. I also enjoyed Austins college life to some extent.
